so you want a natural makeup look?
same.
i used to wear so much makeup. like so much.
foundation. concealer. powder. bronzer. highlight. eyeshadow. eyeliner. mascara. lipstick. all of it.
took forever. felt heavy. and honestly? i didn't look that different.
just looked like i was wearing a lot of makeup.
so i scaled back. way back.
and here's what i figured out.
first. prep your skin.
don't just slap makeup on dirty skin.
wash your face. or at least splash some water on it.
moisturize. every time.
sunscreen if it's daytime.
let everything sink in for a minute.
your makeup will look so much better.
i used to skip this. big mistake.
lightweight base.
you don't need heavy foundation.
tinted moisturizer. skin tint. something sheer.
just enough to even things out.
use a small amount. build up only where you need it.
real skin looks better than cakey skin.
concealer. just where you need it.
don't paint triangles under your eyes.
just put it where you actually need it.
under eyes if you're tired. on spots if you have them.
blend it out.
less is more. seriously.
blush. makes you look alive.
without blush, i look dead. like actually.
with blush, i look fresh. awake.
cream blush is my favorite. blends so naturally.
just a little on your cheeks.
start small. you can always add more.
brows. keep them natural.
your brows frame your whole face.
but you don't need to draw them on like you're in a competition.
just fill in sparse areas. light strokes.
tinted brow gel is so easy. brush it through and go.
natural is better.
mascara. opens up your eyes.
this one step makes such a difference.
curl your lashes first if you want.
apply mascara to your upper lashes.
one coat. maybe two.
don't keep adding until it's clumpy.
nobody wants clumpy lashes.
lips. keep it comfortable.
you don't need intense lipstick for everyday.
tinted lip balm. gloss. something natural.
pink. nude. peach. whatever looks good on you.
just something that adds a little color.
and make sure it's comfortable. if it's drying, you won't wear it.
powder. don't overdo it.
if you get shiny, use a little powder.
but just on the shiny areas. nose. forehead. chin.
don't powder your whole face.
it can look dry and cakey.
a little natural radiance looks better.
final check.
before you leave, check your makeup in natural light.
blend anything that looks off.
soften anything that's too harsh.
don't stress about perfection.
just look fresh and put together.
make it work for your life.
if you're busy, keep it simple.
concealer. blush. mascara. lip balm.
that's enough.
if you have more time, add more.
but don't feel like you need to do everything every day.
stop comparing to social media.
this is so hard.
everyone online looks perfect.
but it's all filtered. edited. produced.
real makeup looks different in real life.
that's fine.
just do what works for you.
clean your tools.
this is important.
dirty brushes = dirty makeup.
wash them regularly.
soap and water. let them dry.
your makeup will look so much better.
take it off at night.
never sleep in your makeup.
i've done it. we all have.
but it's bad for your skin.
take five minutes. remove your makeup. wash your face. moisturize.
your skin will thank you.
so here's the thing.
natural makeup isn't complicated.
prep your skin. light base. concealer where needed. blush. natural brows. mascara. comfortable lips.
that's it.
you don't need twenty products. you don't need an hour.
just enhance what you already have.
keep it simple. keep it fresh.
that's all natural makeup really is.
